A visit in the company of an expert to the Roman Houses of the Celio, a fundamental site for the knowledge of ancient Rome, in its most fascinating face and still little known to the general public.
The Roman domus of the Celio below the basilica of Saints John and Paul, on the slopes of the Celio hill, on the Clivo di Scauro between the Colosseum and the Circus Maximus, were opened to the public in 2002.
The domus are also known as the house of the martyrs John and Paul and contain over four centuries of history, testifying to the passage between paganism and Christianity.
Today it is possible to admire some of the most beautiful late antique frescoes inside.
